In 1772, the first settlers of the MacDonald Clan made the voyage from Scotland to Prince Edward Island. Through the years the family remained close to their original settlement and we can trace back 10 generations of the MacDonald bloodline on Eastern Kings County, PEI.
Various family members possessed extensive knowledge of agriculture that has been handed down through the generations. Tim MacDonald the owner of Earl & Ade grew up on his family farm in Ontario, and spent many summers on the MacDonald homestead outside of Souris. His knowledge of farm equipment, field management, and working with various crops has inspired Tim to create a product from his own harvest for your enjoyment.
On Prince Edward Island, families are recognized by asking “Who’s Yer Father”. Earl was Tim’s Grandfather and Ade was his Great Grandfather. Hence where the name Earl & Ade originated from. With a history spanning over 250 years, we wanted to honour our family heritage and create a legacy to continue on into the future!
